I got really tired of having to mess around with the filament sensor mounted on the spool frame. It restricted how far away the spool could be from the printer and was kinda a paint to deal with in general. With the sensor mounted to the frame you can more easily change filament and move the printer around more freely if you have to and it eliminates how far away the spool can be. It mounts to the side using the two existing screws. This is my 2.0 version of a bracket for mounting the filament sensor directly to the i3 Mega. The first version didn't work so well. This one is much easier to take the sensor on and off.
