Direct drive designs are now a dime a dozen, but this design has the edge: Simple design (Only one pressure part for the extruder holder with no need for support structures). Design is independent of other conversions (e.g., BLTouch extension or fan conversions) No loss of height (Z-axis) in the pressure chamber Cost-effective, as existing extruder and stepper motor are only relocated In addition to the actual extruder holder are available for download for optional addition as well: Cable holder (please check if you have the same holding mechanism. Otherwise keep original holding plate from stepper motor for cable and filament tube attachment). Filament sensor holder to guide filament to filament sensor via PTFE tubing and PC4-M6 holder. Tested the design on a Mega S. Happy to accept feedback regarding other models and add them here. Due to the extra weight on the print head, the print speed or acceleration should be reduced depending on precision requirements. I think the conversion is self-explanatory from the photos (for a savvy technician). Of course, I do not assume any liability or warranty for any damage here. Material requirements: A piece of 4-pin cable to extend the extruder stepper motor cable. At Amazon you can buy div. plugs or whole cables for this purpose (search for "jst ph 2.0 6pin" or "stepper motor cable 6-pin"). 2m (or more for the larger Mega models) of PTFE tubing for 1.75mm filament (4mm outer diameter and about 1.9mm inner diameter) 2 pieces of PC4-M6 pneumatic connectors for the filament sensor holder (gladly available in a set with the PTFE tube) Cable tie
