Anycubic Photon & PhotonS De-Stinky-Nator (aka Airfilter)

thingiverse

Here goes my take on an air filter for both the Anycubic Photon and the PhotonS. Included in this thing are 2 main variants: Anycubic Photon Air Filter - for the original Anycubic Photon: The included plate will replace the back fan cover of the original Photon printer. Print the following parts: 1x Photon_Base Plate.STL 1x Fan_Adapter.STL 1x Fan_Endpiece.STL (for airflow straight out) or 1x Fan_Airsplitter.STL (for airflow directed 90 degrees in both sides - helpful when the printer is pushed against a wall) NOTE: I do not own the original photon hence the dimensions of the base plate are taken from other similar things here on Thingiverse. If it doe snot fit or could fit better, drop me a note and I will be happy to adapt the plate for a better fit. Anycubic PhotonS Air Filter - for the 2nd generation Anycubic Photon: Unlike the original Photon, the PhotonS does not have a backplate which can be replaced. I initially planned to use a flat adapter piece and stick it to the back with double-sided tape (hence the included Base Plate_Raw.STL file) but found - when I installed it....face palm.... that the PhotonS actually blows the air out to the bottom. Hence the pedestal was designed and printed to route the airflow through the filter. Print the following parts: 1x PhotonS_Box.STL 1x Fan_Adapter.STL 1x Fan_Endpiece.STL (for airflow straight out) or 1x Fan_Airsplitter.STL (for airflow directed 90 degrees in both sides - helpful when the printer is pushed against a wall) What else do you need? 1x 60x60x25mm Fan. I used a 24v fan I still had lying around. If you get a 12v fan chances are you can hook it up directly to the mainboard of the printer to turn on and off with the internal fans. I suggest to get one with dual ball bearings like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32852923107.html 1x RC-203 organic vapor filter cartridge. These are cheap as beans and do an excellent job filtering out the smell. Get a few so you can swap them out periodically (they contain activated carbon I believe so it will lose effectiveness after some time). https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32883679621.html 4x Rubber bands The parts are all press fit so the rubber bands which go through the slots in the base/box and span across the filter, fan, and endpiece might not necessarily be required but in case the parts are to loose, the rubber bands will hold everything in place, reduce vibrations and allow for quick filter replacements. Supports are required for the box, fan adapter and splitter. Rest prints without. Happy "stink free" printing :-)
