This is a mod to convert the **Anycubic Vyper** to direct drive. The bracket weighs in at 40 grams (4 perimeters, 15% cubic infill, 7 top/bottom layers) and it's mounted to the existing carriage using stock hardware. An extension or a longer extruder motor cable is needed in order to complete the mod (4 pin to 6 pin) You will also need a **95 mm** long piece of bowden tube. I opted for a pancake stepper (NEMA 17HS4023) to further reduce the weight, it's easily found on amazon everywhere in the world. **PROs:** - Better print quality (probably due to reduced retraction) - More accurate and consistent than the bowden setup (I print at 60/80 mm/s) - Able to better print flexibles **CONs:** - The current design flexes a bit when the extruder does fast retraction movements (however it doesn't seem to affect quality) -- **For assembly check the reference pictures below.** ** Please note: the plastic component between the hotend connector and the metal plate won't fit anymore but it didn't serve any purpose other than esthetics.**
