The bearings work like a charm. I've been using Sunlu PLA and the center hole of the spool is around 75mm dia. This makes the spool spin off center and I noticed that as the PLA got closer to the center it was straining the rom gear a bit. I revised this part to eliminate the lip on the end so I could slide a spool center hole adjuster over it. This got the spool centered nicely on the spool holder and spins a lot easier. I also rebuilt the axles as the originals didn't fit quite right when I made it out of PLA.
