Aoyue Hot-Air Soldering Pivot for Drill Rig

Many of us own the Aoyue 968 hot air soldering station. Proper hot air desoldering of ICs and other integrated circuits need a exact vertical orientation of the hot air pistol and an adjusted height over the board. Free hand is very difficult. Aoyue sell some vertical stands and equipment. But why? We all have perfectly aligned drill rigs or drill stands. This thing fits in a standard 43mm intake and the hot air pistol is fixed by an easy handle. Use the 'medium' handle, put it in the pivot piece and try the flexibility. If it's to rigid print the 'thin' handle, if your material is to flimsy, use the 'thick' version. At the end glue both parts together and you never have to manual adjust your hot air gun. The pivot part is designed to not touch the hot metal of the pistol. Enjoy! Print Settings Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2-0.3mm Infill: 50-100% Notes: Printed mine in ABS. I used 50% infill for the pivot and 100% for the handle. Other materials would also work. How I Designed This 123Design. Designed as two parts to avoid support structures and to have the chance to try the flexibility before it's done forever.
