Apache Popup Camper Bed-end Reinforcements

Apache Popup Camper Bed-end Reinforcements

thingiverse

This THING is a reinforcement for the ribbing on the bed end walls on an Apache Popup Camper. There are two reinforcements, left and right. The reinforcements are bonded to the remaining, damaged ribbing of the bed end walls using Liquid ABS, (LABS). LABS is a slurry of methyl-ethyl ketone (MEK), and ABS scraps, pellets or filament. The reinforcements go on as a cap over the original piece. Once bonded and cured, any missing area may be filled from the backside of the original piece with more LABS. Apache Popup Campers have Road Covers and Bed Ends made from ABS. ABS is difficult to print with. Reportedly, PETG can be dissolved and bonded using MEK. PETG has better UV resistance than ABS. For this application, PETG may be a better choice of material. This guide was used on a 1976 Apache Royal. Other models and other years may have different configurations.
