The statue showcases an idealized young man, standing tall beyond life-size proportions. Unfortunately, his lower legs have not survived the passage of time. The face exhibits the distinctive characteristics of ancient Greek art: enormous, elongated eyes with intricately carved pupils, lips curved in a subtle, "archaic smile" that serves to create depth rather than convey emotion. His hairstyle is meticulously detailed, featuring two rows of curls that cascade down his forehead, while ten flowing locks frame his shoulders; atop this, he wears a diadem that was once resplendent with gold. Broad shoulders and a wide chest are offset by a narrow waist, a common trait in male statues from the archaic era; defined grooves accentuate the contours of his abdomen, whereas his shoulder muscles and pectorals appear softer.
