However it uses up batteries too fast so I decided to power it using USB instead. The keyboard, of course still uses Bluetooth to communicate with the computer. This is a case that fits into the battery compartment of the keyboard. As such, this is completely reversible and the keyboard can be switched back to using batteries. ##Things Needed 1. This printed piece 2. An M3 screw 3. Aluminum foil 4. Cable with 3V leads: In this case I used a USB to 3V "battery eliminator" I bought online, but if you'd prefer you could splice an unused USB cable and bring down the voltage to 3V using a voltage regulator/transistors. ##Instructions The picture is mostly self explanatory, but after printing, use an M3 screw for where the positive terminal of the battery would have gone and wrap a bit of aluminum foil around the screw cap. Then attach the wires to these, making sure the 3V end connects to the metal screw and the 0V to the foil. You may want to use glue, tape or solder to secure the wires and contacts. Then insert the whole piece carefully into the keyboard, taking care to ensure everything fits and the foil does not tear. You can now plug in the USB and check that it lights up when you press the power button. If it does not it is likely the wires were not connected properly or the foil broke when inserting it. Keep the original metal cap in case you would like to switch back to using batteries.
