Apple Pencil 2nd Generation Carry Case

Apple Pencil 2nd Generation Carry Case

Designed this to protect my 2nd gen apple pencil while traveling. I couldn't find a model designed for the 2nd generation pencils, and was looking for something without a bulky cap. Theres a bit of space for some thin foam to be placed (jammed) into the bottom and into the hole in the cap to keep the pen really secure. Printing: I printed everything on an Ender 3 with the 4.2.7 board with white Creality PLA. Sliced with Ulitmaker Cura: I used 60% infill, 0.16mm layer height. No supports needed if printed vertically and I only used a skirt (and glue stick) for adhesion. Everything else default PLA. Took about 3.5 hours. Print the screw cap with threads up - I printed the main case vertically and that worked well enough although it I can see some artifacts near the top where the precision on my ender isn't perfect, but the screws threaded perfectly the first try. Printing without the chamfers is going to hurt your fingers (first mistake) - I filed the edges down on my first print and feels great now. Final step is to cut out some saved foam (something soft around 5mm thick, or thinner if its more rigid) and jam into each end to remove all rattle and protect the pencil. You have no obligations to me except to give me credit if you use/adapt my model! Still, if you like the print and want to support me you can Venmo me at @joseph-martin-68 or commission me for a customized model! I can add names, initial, patterns you name it.
