Apple TV4 Frame Box (VESA Mount)

This simple box can hold an Apple TV (4th gen.) and can be fixed with one M6 screw into a single VESA-mount hole on the back of a Flat-TV. I used a short M6 screw: The screw head should not be thicker than 3mm and a maximum diameter of 13mm (screw dimensions: M6, 13x13mm). The screw-length however, depends on the TV's VESA hole (sorry, I don't know, how deep you can screw). Print Settings Printer: bq Hephestos 2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 50% or more Notes: I used Brim (20 lines) and had supports for the rounded corners on the bottom of the box and inside of the screw hole. Set the infill to 50% least. If you set the wall thickness to 1.3mm, you will need an infill the back-pad only (see the "How I Designed This" section). The infill part will be a minimum and give more rigidity to the upper section of the pad, where the screw whole is. I used 20% infill and 1.2mm thick walls. It works, but you may not tighten the screw to much. How I Designed This Designed using FreeCAD I designed the box using FreeCAD and then exported the final object as STL. First I sketched and extruded two boxes (one into the other): one is an "edged" version of half an Apple TV, the other is the same box, but with the dimensions of the outer-frame (that is the 1st box plus 2.5mm wall thickness on 3 sides - left, right, bottom). Then I cut out the inner box out of the outer box. In the next step I sketched/pocketed the front and bottom spaces and added the additional pad on the back > all just rectangles for the moment. The pad on the back ensures a small distance from the flat TV and also takes a part of the screw-head pocket. In that pad I pocketed the screw hole (6mm through all) and the screw head (13mm, 3mm deep starting from the inside wall of the box). Finally I added some 1mm fillets on most of the edges on the front and the top of the box, and most importantly the wider fillets for the rounded corners of the Apple TV (on the bottom of the box) and for the front rectangle (rounded edges on the top front of the box).
