This is an adapter for the Aqua-Tainer water jugs sold by REI. These use a difficult to find M25 fitting. This adapter provides an M25 Male on one end and a Male Garden Hose Thread on the other, allowing the jug to be used for pouring into another container (say, an RV) and not just dispensing. Be sure to only use garden hoses marked for Potable water!
