Arc Lamp for LED Stripes, Customizable

An Arc Lamp (Arch Lamp, Bridge Lamp) for LED Strips designed for easy customization and durability. It can fit a diffuser (printable) for better light distribution. **PLEASE** post a make if you printed this lamp, it helps to promote it. It's the button on the top right that says "Post a make". It is printed in 10 parts (8 arc segments and two feet) and printing takes very roughly 90 hours with a 0.4mm layer thickness (it takes roughly 1kg of filament to print it). For stability i decided to print the foots with 3mm wall thickness, but that is probably a bit of overkill. **This is a elaborate and long print, so THINK for yourself, MEASURE for yourself, and have a plan in your mind how to build it BEFORE you start printing.** Apart from the printed parts you need 3x10mm and 3x12mm Allen wrench screws (And fitting nuts), Spax screws if you choose to screw the lamp onto your table, and if you want a diffuser foil up to 0.4mm thickness. The Allen wrench makes it much easier to assemble due to the confined space. The diffusor is printable in two layers of 0.15mm (Overall 0.3mm thickness) out of transparent or white filament (White will diffuse the best). Or print it once and use it as a template to cut your own diffusor foils. Included is a clip for most full-size Arduino boards (Arduino Uno, Mega, and so on) if you need one to control your LED's. Should you adapt this lamp to your wishes in OpenSCAD (The OpenSCAD files have much more configuration possibilities than the prepared STL files) please take a look into the console output of OpenScad, it tells you there additional parameters of your lamp. also you will need the library [Chamfered primitives for OpenSCAD](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1305888) to be installed, otherwise you will not be able to render the result. A word about the straight segments: These are meant to extend the lamp in the middle, but be aware that a lot of the strength of the Arc Lamp comes from its circle form, extending too far makes it probably unstable or you get sagging. Changing the radius parameter in the OpenSCAD files is probably the better alternative (Don't forget to adapt the feet as well, they also have a radius parameter). ** The prepared STL files have the following properties: ** 2 LED Strip version: * Inner diameter Arch Lamp: 1 meter (1000mm) * Segment width: 70mm and depth: 22.5mm * LED strip length: 1626mm * LED Strip max width: 2x 12mm * Diffuser width: 46mm and length: 198.9mm 1 LED Strip version: * Inner diameter Arch Lamp: 1 meter (1000mm) * Segment width: 60mm and depth: 24mm. * LED strip length: 1630mm. * LED Strip max width: 1x 12mm * Diffuser width: 33mm and length: 199.5mm
