A quick test made in Sketch-Up for an Idea I've had. What if instead making the LEDs in an LED light bulb shine out only the front, they could form the shape of the entire bulb? Make six or more arches and assemble them in a light bulb shape. The holes are intended to hold the LEDs while soldering them together in strings, and then allow the finished string to be lifted out easily. The holes are 5mm in diameter in the model but I recommend scaling up the model by 5% to 10% before printing for a better fit if your printer won't produce 100% accurate parts. I printed one at 110%, but I haven't assembled an LED bulb yet. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Kossel Mini Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .15 Infill: 30 Notes: Setttings depend on your printer. Post-Printing A little cleanup (strings between the pillars on top) may be necessary.
