myminifactory
This grave stele was found in Kerameikos, built in the Themistokleian wall. The relief was hammered prior to its reuse. It represents a young doryphoros to the right. At the bottom, a Gorgon is shown in the kneeling posture adopted by Archaic artists to signify rapid motion. The stele was originally crowned by a Sphinx.
