Life Goes On…With or without the EarthAs the Earth’s population increases, its resources and facilities are constantly depleting. It has no more room for accommodation and humans are lead to think beyond its horizon and look further into the vast cosmos. Thus, inspired by Elon Musk’s words to colonize Mars and save humanity, we propose one of the finest human endeavours - ARCHAREAM, which realizes such an enterprise to find a sanctuary apart from the once flourishing but now failing Earth. The ARCHAREAM structural design features a blend of creative design paradigms and thoroughness.Inspiration for NameARCHAREAM = ARCH+ARES+AM = GATEWAY TO MARS AROUND MARSComing to the technicalities, there are two residential torii and one agricultural torus that will be used to provide for the people on board. The down surfaces in ARCAREAM will be located in both the residential torii and the agricultural module and will be oriented perpendicular to the axis of rotation of these structures. The rotation will cause centrifugal force to act radially outward, normal to the down surfaces which will provide the required magnitude of artificial gravity. This is purpose of making the structures torii, the optimum rotational 3 dimensional space which can rotate to provide the artificial gravity humans require to survive while docked on celestial bodies that do not posses Earth like gravity. All the torii are covered in solar panels which will be the main source of energy on board. The docking ports are located above the torii so as to not interfere with their rotation and allow ease of access to visitors and residents. Antennas are located at the very top to communicate with bases on Earth and any future bases on Mars. Also included in the settlement design is an Operations Core, the central support structure of the torii, which houses the heavy industries, observatory, docking system, tuned mass damper and other essentials that are necessary for the operation of the settlement.
