This is an Archimedes screw. Attributed to Archimedes over 2000 years ago this is a very early water pump. The screw sits in a tube or half pipe and draws the water up when spun. This model had a stand with half pipe, screw and key, and an additional half pipe to seal the tube. Post-Printing Sand well. The tolerances are tight and if there are any jags from supports then it will not draw water.
