Inside (.stl files): Base Stand Archimedes screw (BTM, MID) Pulley drive (slave) Clips Adjustment screws Here it is! The first release to the Goldberg Machine. We have started off with a 'simple' Archimedes screw. To make it more interesting and FUN, you can print as many segments as you like and make the Archimedes screw as LONG AS YOU WANT. It also has a stand with functioning angle adjustments to alter the incline of the Archimedes screw as you see fit. Archimedes screws are connected to 'ready to operate' pulley drive via rubber band or similar. Functioning Archimedes screw tested on small balls and liquids. Essential Parts: Base x1 Stand x1 Archimedes screw BTM x1 Pulley Drive x1 Adjustment screws x2 Extending: Archimedes screw MID x1 Clip x1 Print as many clips and Archimedes screw MID as desired to achieve desired length. Crank, motor mount, pulley ratios for torque and top stabalising needle will be added this week, by FRIDAY 11:59pm. All stl. files have been tested at there current sizes. Layer height of 0.2mm with NO SUPPORT MATERIAL NEEDED on any files (You may need to slow down the bridging speeds for safer bridging). I have added some manual support on the Archimedes screws as images to follow will explain. Glues or fixing agents are not necessary though will help performance. Lubricant around pulley 'slave drive' is recommended. Aside; Though the volume on the Screws are symmetrical around it's middle axis, the difference in top layers and wall thickness while 3D printing can cause the object weight to become very slightly off center. In very long Archimedes screws this difference may accumulate and become noticeable. These will eventually require the stabalising pin (to come). If you scale the Archimedes screw up by a factor of 2, scale the clips up also by a factor of approximately 2.05-2.1 to make up for the loss give. Clips are hard to put in and hold firmly, be careful when adding in sections. Please show your support by following EYN2K on social media. Print Settings Printer: Various Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 15-20% recommended only Notes: 3 outside shells recommended. Clips should be higher infill density. Manual supports added to archimeded screws BTM and MID. Slower bridging speeds are required. How I Designed This Blender 3D.
