Arduino Mega 2560 Case (ADAM Computer Floppy Drive) Ahh, the COLECO ADAM... So much awesome, so little love - probably because, while the system actually has a lot going for it, Coleco were in such a rush to release it the world got what could at best be described as an engineering prototype. Oh, well. As a resident of the UK getting my hands on a working ADAM system has taken a lot of time and effort, even more to get my hands on a floppy drive. System info is also a bit tough to get hold of but I'm slowly getting the parts I want and have made some sympathetic mods to get my machine nearer the system Coleco could have released if they'd been a bit more patient. "So what's this got to do with the Arduino Mega 2560?" I hear you ask? Ah! An absolutely awesome chap has come up with a design for a floppy drive emulator for this computer that is at the same time excellent and easy to build. Also pretty darn cheep, especially considering kit for the ADAM when you can find it would make an Apple owner blush. As I'm fairly pleased with the result I thought I'd share for any Arduino owners want an enclosure... ...there's also a version with a hole for an LCD 1602 Keypad Shield. It's a little larger and the shield won't line up with the Arduino pins as-is because I wanted to maintain the aesthetics of the enclosure and to help insertion in to the case. Best plan is to cut/remove the shield pins and solder some wire/ribbon cable to make the connections. The holes line up with the keypad buttons - get some suitable button caps from fleaBay and you're good to go.
