Arduino Mega Clip Mount Base

Arduino Mega Clip Mount Base

thingiverse

This is the latest of a mounting base for an Arduino Mega. Requires no screws or spacers to mount the Mega board. Screw it to your widget (4 holes), then simply slide the board into the slot. Once it's fully inserted, a little pin snaps into a mounting hole in the board to retain it. To remove, simply push the tab down releasing the pin and slide your Mega back out. "Mega Base web.stl" has support for FDM printing built in to the slot in case your slicer has problems generating support for it. On my first print the little support segments popped easily and completely out with a little screwdriver. (version 1) For version 2 I added countersinks in the mounting holes so you can use either 3MM or #4-40 flat-head screws when mounting so the screw heads will not interfere with the underside when sliding the mega board into place. Version 3 is the most recent and I added a few more improvements, i.e. improved slots for better fits straight off the build plate and less interference with solder points on bottom of board. Added slots on the outside for adding a cover which will be forthcoming. edit to add: I just printed version 3 (with "simplify3d slicer), and happy to report that once the support was removed (pulled out easily like a zipper) the board fit the base and snapped in perfectly with absolutely no further cleaning (filing, deburring, etc.).
