Arduino Nipkow Display

Arduino Nipkow Display

The Nipkow disk was used in early television systems and can mechanically scan or create an image. The disk contains several holes on a spiral which will form in my case 32 lines. At any given moment in time, only one hole passes the LED which changes it's brightness and color to create separate pixels on the lines. I wanted to create a mechanical Nipkow display based on Arduino which can be easily reproduced without complex mechanical machining. So I decided to design and 3d-print all necessary components - including the Nipkow disk itself. For a printed version, the disk diameter depends on your available printer. I have used a Prusa iMk3S+ which gives me around 21x25cm horizontal print space, so I decided to use a disk with 20cm diameter. This repository contains all 3d print files needed for my “Color Nipkow Display” project. for a detailed description (also on how to built), please see my Hackster page for this project : https://www.hackster.io/mac70/projects https://www.hackster.io/mac70/3d-printed-color-nipkow-display-380c33
