Hi there! This is my new Flashlight AF-20. [Alpha Flashlight 20 watt] ▬▬▬▬▬ Basic Info ▬▬▬▬▬ It is based on 4 High Power 5w LEDs which are driven by a 150w DC Converter with build it voltage and current regulators. This Converter is controlled by an Arduino Nano that works together with a display, that shows the Power mode and the battery capacity on the back of the Flashlight. The AF-20 itself has a main ON/OFF switch and a red illuminated "Mode" button to change between the 5 modes. It also has several protection features, more on that in the "Features and Specs" section. For example the thermal protection is based on a KSD9700 thermal switch that will turn on a cooling fan if the temperature is higher than, in my case 40°C. You can change that switch to 50, 60, 80°C etc. Keep in mind that the high airflow design makes it impossible to overheat any of the components. Besides all that, the unique AF-20 design, gives you the opportunity to switch between lenses like in a SLR camera! You decide whether you need a soft flood light using a 120° lens, or use a 5° lens for a high power narrow beam light for long distances! ▬▬▬▬▬ Features and Specs ▬▬▬▬▬ ✓ Changeable Lenses ✓ Active Cooling + 6 heatsinks in total ✓ Light Modes: LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, TURBO and STROBE ✓ OverCurrent Protection on LEDs (max is 1500mA) ✓ OverDischarge Protection: Arduino is constantly measuring the voltage and will let you know if something is not as it should be. ✓ OverHeat Protection: A cooling fan will automatically turn on if the temp is high. ✓ High Efficiency Cooling design with vented ports ✓ Battery Management System (Auto Turn-Off if Battery is Low) ✓ Oled Display that shows the remaining battery and the current mode ✓ Max. Light Emittance: 9200lux @ 1m ✓ Battery Life: About 1h @ Turbo Mode ✓ Weight: 500gr ✓ Color: Red/Black ▬▬▬▬▬ MODES ▬▬▬▬▬ Pressing the "Mode" button once at a time with shuffle you between LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH modes. To enter the TURBO mode, you will have to press the button twice. Triple press will turn on the STROBE mode. ▬▬▬▬▬ LEDs ▬▬▬▬▬ I used 4 LG 3535 LEDs instead of CREE XP-G. They can be found cheaply on ebay or aliexpress. Here are some links: http://ali.ski/4EfaIh http://ali.ski/CAbn7 Each of them is rated 5w, so x4 we get about 20w of LED power. Wavelength: 6500K Luminous flux: 150lm (aliexpress says 500lm at 3.6v) Drive Current: up-to 1500mA @ 3.2v Working temperature: -20 - 70°C ▬▬▬▬▬ Luminous Emittance ▬▬▬▬▬ --- @ No Lens at 1m --- ◗ LOW: 10lx ◗ MEDIUM: 55lx ◗ HIGH: 180lx ◗TURBO: 520lx --- @ 5° Lens at 1m --- ◗ LOW: 75lx ◗ MEDIUM: 930lx ◗ HIGH: 3200lx ◗ TURBO: 9200lx ▬▬▬▬▬ Battery ▬▬▬▬▬ I used a 4s Lithium polymer battery at 14.8v with a capacity of 1500mAh, The voltage is then converted (DC-DC Step down) to drive the diodes. Theoretically it gives us about an hour of battery life on the most demanding mode, the TURBO mode. ▬▬▬▬▬ Some Links ▬▬▬▬▬ ◗ Lenses can be found here: http://ali.ski/MQJPMj http://ali.ski/AODyx ◗ DC Converter here: http://ali.ski/Vdlp9 http://ali.ski/XqbOg5 ◗ Cheap arduino here: http://ali.ski/FZUi61 http://ali.ski/R7WlU ◗ oLed siplay here: http://ali.ski/fEAQBe http://ali.ski/yIqiEZ ◗ Heatsinks: http://ali.ski/1Samld http://ali.ski/4CD1c ◗ Red button here: http://ali.ski/PbRUUC http://ali.ski/K2gyi ◗ Mini switch here: http://ali.ski/cvcM4J http://ali.ski/MUrnj ◗ Arduino sketch here: https://yadi.sk/d/NVSw1rf22Lp3QA Thanks for reading! {،^◕‿◕^،}
