Ariane 5 and James Webb Space Telescope (JWST)

<p>This is a model of the Ariane 5 rocket carrying the James Webb Space Telescope. The top ist turnable so you can choose to show the opening which reveals the JWST or the front of the hull showing the decals. It's also possible to fold the front shield of the JWST to have a better look at the reflector panel.</p><p>The rocket is 36.5cm high.</p><h3>Printing</h3><p>The model is designed to print the parts in corresponding colors. Therefore, the parts are sorted by color so it's easy to fill the build plate with the right objects. <strong>I highly recommend to use the 3MF files</strong> I provided with PrusaSlicer since I manually placed the seam positions for them to be the most hidden.</p><p>Print everything with 0.2mm layer height.</p><p>“SilverJWSTShields_x1_addBrim.stl” probably needs a brim.</p><p>“BlackJWSTBodyConnection_x1_addSupport.stl” needs a little bit of support.</p><p>Everything else should be easy to print as is.</p><h3>Decals</h3><p>I used this foil to print the decals on with my laser printer: <a href="https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0777PYYV7/">https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0777PYYV7/</a></p><h3>Assembly Notes</h3><p>Use the images to see what goes where. Just glue the parts together. I used “UHU HART Spezialkleber”.</p><p>Assemble in following order:</p><ol><li>Both boosters</li><li>Main Stage</li><li>Attach boosters to main stage</li><li>JWST</li><li>Attach JWST to main stage</li></ol><p>The turning mechanism could be a little bit tight. Sand the outer wall of the “BlackJWSTHolder_x1” until the cargo part can turn without too much force.
