I made this so that I could mount my Arlo on a lamp stand or any vertical pole. I guess it could be use for any eye hole mounting situation that can be strapped to a vertical pole. The strap I am currently using had some silicone anti slip material on one side so depending on the weight something like that might be needed. Some kind of foam between the strap and pole might work too. Or maybe TPU?
