Armillary Sphere

Armillary Sphere

thingiverse

A working model armillary sphere for calculating location and timing of celestial events. For any latitude on the planet, allows you to predict the location on the horizon where the sun will rise and set, the time it will rise and set (relative to local solar noon), and the height of the sun in the sky at any given time of day. How to use: https://youtu.be/MQjWQJ1yjS8 How to assemble: https://youtu.be/3oEKXXeu194 I recommend watching the tutorial videos on assembly and use. You will need 4x M3 screws, ~10mm, plus cyanoacrylate glue. Several parts require multiple copies, including: -HorizonLeg x 4 -Colure x 4 -CageAxis x 2 -TropicCircle x 2 I was asked to make versions without screw holes. Look for the "NoHoles" files for those. As for the printing, it's all pretty easy except for the arctic circles. They required supports and a skirt. I use a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.25mm layers, 15% infill. All of the structure is original except for the globe model, which is by "bld" at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17336.
