Athens or Attica (Greece), acquired in 1877Marble, around 410 BC The oddly shaped relief pillar is probably one of the few fragments of the throne of a Classical cult statue. On the left we see Aphrodite casually leaning against a tree trunk. The front depicts Zeus with his raised left hand propped on a painted sceptre, and on the right, Hera unveils herself in front of her spouse.  This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
