ASR 33 teletype chad box

thingiverse

This is my attempt at the chad collection box for the venerable ASR 33 teletype. I have not printed this (my tty has its original) but there was some discussion on the cctalk and greenkeys lists in the past about making new ones, but to my knowledge nothing eventuated. So, in just over 200 lines of code, here you are. It will just fit in a 200 x 200 x 200 build volume. The original was made from a clear butyl (I think) plastic that has the characteristic faint smell of vomit, like some old screwdriver handles. This model has the same flat/tapered bottom as the original and also reproduces the small moulding mark in the middle. It might be more useful to section this model into the top, back, bottom and so on, and glue the pieces together rather than one large print with a lot of internal scaffolding. If there is any interest I'll rejig the OpenSCAD script to to do this but in the meantime, hope you find it useful and if you print it let me know! Note that you can use the accompanying 3-view diagram to get an understanding of the placement and relation of the symbols in the script.
