Because of the geography and the wind from the Baltic See the driver's of BR86 steam locomotives on the islland of Usedom often encountered poor visibility due to smoke from the chimney. To tackle this, the Deutsche Reichsbahn (German Railways) fitted smoke deflectors to several BR86's operated on Usedom. Back in the day (~1987) Aster Hobby did offer these as an option. You will have a hard time finding them today. Now you can retrofit your BR86 with 3D-printed "Windleitbleche". They are mounted using the screws on top of water tanks. Please print them in material that is more temperature resistant than standard PLA. These items are mounted close to a hot boiler, fired by an external ethanol flame ;-)
