Astronaut space helmet

cults3d

This is a digital 3D printable model of an Astronaut space helmet used by Neil Armstrong on the Apollo 11 mission. The visor that you print is meant as a base for the actual visor which should be made from a clear plastic sheet using for example vacuum forming. There are two film visors that are supposed to go over one another. One with a reflective layer and one without. You need to cut the film so it fits and has room for the “handles” at the bottom of the visor, which can be used to lift them. Also, this helmet from the apollo mission is normally covered with fabric so this model really serves as a base to make an astronauts helmet. Basically, none of the 3D printed surfaces would be visible in the end. Only the rim around the visor and the part that connects it to the body. The download contains pieces of the model ready to be 3D printed on a 200 mm print bed and files that are not cut into smaller pieces. All cut parts are placed on the print bed as we would print them to save you time. SIZE At 100% scale the model’s dimensions are approximately: Width 357 mm Length 311 mm Height 298 mm You can scale the model as you wish but we can’t guarantee that at a much smaller size the model will print well.
