Astronomia Motorized

This is a model of the movement in one of my favorite watches, a Jacob and Co. Astronomia. It seems that Jacob and Co never makes the exact same watch twice. There are almost as many variations of Astronomia watch, as there are pictures of it on the web. I based this model on the Astronomia watch in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvx0jXbKkV0  Here is a time lapse version of the design: https://youtu.be/so1m_iGdigE  and a real-time video: https://youtu.be/2vyGcqjci-Q    Some Design Features: - A quartz movement drives the hands, so it can be used as an accurate clock. - There is a ‘hook slot’ in the back of the case so it can be easily hung on a wall (and used as a regular clock). - The carrier motors are powered by a USB charger. - A speed control knob allows the carrier speed to be synchronized with the escapement, because the speed of the plastic escapement (which limits the carrier speed) changes due to temperature and humidity. - The STL files are all high resolution, hence large. This allows them to print with virually no facets. Since MyMiniFactor has a 100MB limit on STL files the (150MB) Carrier 3.STL file is Zipped. - Refer to the "Triaxial Motorized Build Notes" PDF for construction information.   I want to thank ruzickjc, A26, and Dexter_New_Materials, and bld from thingiverse for their designs that I remixed. - ruzickjc, for his help developing the code and the design changes that he made to get the Motorized concept to work. - A26, who's original Triaxial design provided the inspiration for this design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3061474  - Dexter_New_Materials, for the Moon model I remixed: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1014620  - bld, for the Earth model I remixed: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17336  - And Jacob and Co. for making such incredibly cool watches. Enjoy, McMaven   Some history: This is a Motorized version of my original Triaxial Tourbillon Clock Make. The two major changes are that this version uses stepper motors to driver the carrier rather than a weight, and it incorporates my Triaxial Quartz Movement Upgrade. However, there are many other subtle differences from the original Triaxial design. Actually every part in this model has been redesigned. I started this project over a year ago. My original “Motorized” design also used two motors; one to turn the Carriage, and the other to drive the clock Hands. I never posted it because I wasn’t able to get the code to reliably display the correct time with the Hands stepper, after the Carriage stepper motor was started or stopped. I sent the Motorized STL files to ruzickjc (who is a much better coder that I am) to see if he could get it to work. His solution (shown here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt_mqIPkCwM&t=110s ) was to drop the Hands stepper motor, use a Quartz Movement to keep the correct time, and only using the Carriage stepper motor. Note, that the code that he developed to drive the clock in his video also became the code for my Furious design, and (with a slight change) is the code for this design. After seeing his video, I created the Triaxial Quartz Movement Upgrade ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3677946 ) for the original Triaxial, to provide a clean design for incorporating a quartz movement. This version still uses 2 stepper motors, but running in parallel to drive the Carrier and provide more torque.
