ATX Breakout Board Mount

ATX Breakout Board Mount

Your typical 24pin ATX power supply connector can provide many useful voltage levels to your other electronics projects.... ya got 3.3V, 5V, 12V and even -5V (has anyone ever used that one?)... anyways, it's great.

So, to leverage this handy connector, I bought a breakout board from ebay and found that all the through-hole solder pins on the bottom of this PCB were dangerously exposed to whatever highly conductive surface I'd care to callously toss it on. That won't do, so I made this nifty standoff (with 2.8mm holes that allow you to use the same screws as you'd find on a drive tray for mounting) and even added some tapered holes for wall/chassis/robot mounting.

Dimensions of the mount holes, centers to centers are:

69.5mm x 33mm

If you found this useful, it would bring me great joy to see your work - so be sure to share. :)

Also, feel free to peruse my other submissions which are almost as varied as they are many:

http://www.thingiverse.com/3E8/designs

Enjoy!
Category: Electronics
