Audi TT MK1 Dome / Map Light Fix

When Audi designed the map light for the MK1 TT, they engineered some plastic clips which hold the dome light assembly in place and then used a lever-type design to secure the lense in place. Fast forward 20 years and the plastic gets brittle and breaks. The dome light in my 2001 Audi TT has been broken for some time. The plastic clips which hold it in place broke off before I had it and the map light assembly would kinda flop around in the headliner. The lens had one of its plastic mounting tabs broken but the other was intact so I lived with it. While cleaning it a few days back, I broke the other clip on the lens. It will no longer stay on the roof. Gravity takes hold. A new light, if you can find one, runs about $180 from Audi. No thank you. So I designed a couple of little clips that are glued to the lens and to the dome light assembly which replace the original design and hold everything in place like it should be. I've included three files. One is for the little l-shaped clips which hold the dome light assembly. These glue into the channels in the light housing where the old clips were before they broke off. Hopefully you can see that in the photos. The other two files are for clips which are glued to the remaining stub on the lens. There is one for the left and one for the right; they are mirror images. These are really easy to print. Lay them flat on your build plate and print using ABS. PLA will melt in the sun and fail. Lightly sand the surfaces and apply some epoxy to glue in place. Clamp with clothes pins. Enjoy the fact that a few minutes worth of time saved you $180.
