This thing replaces the spring-loaded part of the Audix D-vice drum microphone clip. The original part is too small and doesn't clamp onto many drums very well. This replacement part was designed to easily grab onto drum suspension systems. Be careful not to lose the little metal rods when taking apart the spring mechanism. There is a small metal rod on each end of the spring. The longer one goes on top. Remove the sticky felt from the old part and insert into the new part. The felt dampens the spring, preventing it from making noise. I used an X-acto knife and bent paperclip to disassemble and reassemble the part.
