## Overview: This part is an adapter for a Kwikset Deadbolt Latch to be used with the August Smart Lock Pro. ## Purpose: ~~The need for this adapter was due to the fact the provided adapter was not designed for *Left Handed* doors using Kwikset Deadbolt latches. The rotation of the deadbolt is round bit facing up when locked, and round bit facing left when unlocked. The August adapter each position to be 90°/270° out of phase, for the locked/unlocked positions.~~ ~~I've provided two adapters. The one I printed and use is the 90° out of phase adapter. You'll have work out which one works for you. For my left handed door, the 90° adapter was what I needed.~~ I had originally thought that the August Pro was shipped with an adapter for Kwikset Locks on **Right-Handed Doors** only. This was incorrect. The proper solution is to **manually rotate** the lock (by holding the back piece by the wings and rotating the front anti-clockwise) to move the internal mechanism to the unlocked position for my left-handed door. This still isn't (as of October 2018) mentioned in their installation documentation, and it was only after I called support they directed me to do this. I'm going to leave the parts posted in case anyone finds a need for them. The original factory piece is posted as well, just in case someone needs to print a replacement. Please leave comments if there are concerns about using the adapter. I'll gladly make modifications if needed.
