One day when I was looking around online for bell references for another project, I saw an image of the locomotive from the movie "Castle in the Sky". after that I started thinking of how I could make my own version of it. so I borrowed the movie from my local library and saved multiple images from the movie for reference. It's based on a Bachmann Percy Chassis fitted with Bachmann Bill/Ben wheels and a custom Motor housing with a Bachmann Edward/Emily motor. also due to the Bachmann Percy's pickups being located on the running board, you could buy that but I used a set of Kitbashing pickups that worked well for this project. (Bachmann really needs to update their original Thomas models, being Thomas, James, and Percy) Parts list: Chassis frame: https://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_93_99&products_id=809 Bottom plate: https://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_93_99&products_id=810 Drive Wheel Assembly W/rods: https://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_93_99&products_id=807 Motor w/ wire (Edward/Emily): https://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_93_160&products_id=7240 Contacts set (Universal/Kit Bashing): https://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68_91&products_id=11655 I will, at a later date, include an alternative chassis shell that works with the standard Percy wheels. however, if you still want to use the intended Bill/Ben wheels but don't have them or don't want to pay for them. they are ~13.45mm (0.5295in) in diameter. so if you want to find alternative wheels go ahead. I know the wheels I went for aren't a perfect match. I have included a gear intended for the gearbox, it's a printable replica of the gear used in the early Bachmann Thomas and Percy models. If you have one already, I recommend you use that rather than my gear. I simply included it because some may not have one and it is easier for others to model. The trucks use my usual swappable top system so if you download my top pack(s) you can use them on this with some exceptions. for wheels, I recommend either standard HO scale wheels or OH09 wheels that have a diameter of ~10.6mm (0.417in) wheels along with a single wight (I used 7gm wights). also, why did I number my model no.8 when the loco in the movie is no.7? well, other than making it a potential AU, it's because I don't see it as a reference to the RWS/T&F character Toby. not everything has to be a refrence, people. If you have any questions about the model, Feel free to ask.
