This improved Z probe mount attaches via two hex screws underneath and an extended tie wrap location at the corner of the platform. A wood screw can be added to firm it up. Make sure not to over-tighten the hex screws, as the mount may split. The mount holds a 12mm diameter induction proximity probe, with a new version available for 18mm probes (though exercise caution as it may collide with bed screws). A toothed washer from the probe should be used inside the underside nut to prevent swiveling or nut displacement during printing. This mount has been successfully deployed on a Simple Metal printer using a purchased Printrbot probe and Marlin inductive firmware (set M212 values at X0 Y0 Z-0.9). Ensure you use V2 firmware for non-LCD printers, while LCD printers require an additional y limit stop switch on the opposite side of the y carriage. For gcode settings in Repetier, add G29 command after G28 to prevent printing in air. Note that you may need to adjust probe position and home all values before running G29 autoleveling. An untested 18mm version is available, but be cautious of potential collisions with bed screws. Remember to replace the removed tie-wrap before installing this mount.
