Automated sprouter

Sprouting is really easy, and a great source of nutrients. There are a lot of manual sprouters out there, but it isn’t always possible to regularly water the sprouts. This automated sprouter is setup to water the sprouts every hour. The easiest way to set it up is to connect a water pump with a timer, though if you want to go the more complicated route, my instructable on using an Arduino should be up soon. The operation is rather simple, the bottom black part is the water reservoir. I painted mine with resin on the inside and outside to make sure it doesn’t leak water. The water pump goes in the reservoir and feeds the pipe to the top orange part. The top orange part is where the electronics will go if you decide to use an Arduino. The water pipe is fed to here and fed through the middle hole, make sure it doesn’t stick out too much. The middle part is where the drawer with the sprouts goes in. I’ve set my water pump to run for 10 seconds every hour. The drawer with the sprouts fills up with water, and the water then slowly leaks out from the bottom of the drawer into the reservoir. It does help to sometimes take the drawer out and just mix the sprouts a bit. I normally use 50g of mung beans and it fills the drawer within 3 days. There is also a container print, I use this to store the drawer with sprouts in the fridge, but this is not necessary. Before putting the mung beans in, keep them overnight in water, it softens up the shell and start the growing process. To follow the build steps, I've put up an instructable here: https://www.instructables.com/Automated-Bean-Sprouter/ Happy sprouting!
