Automatic Latching System

You want to create an automatic latching system for your heated chamber's lid using a handle mechanism. When the handle is pushed, it latches, and unlatches when pushed again. A rubber band or spring will be used to pull the hook arm leftwards. Kindly suggest improvements or modifications to my proposed design. I am currently facing difficulties in this stage of development.
