Automatic water-filler for solar fountain WIP

thingiverse

I made a solar fountain for my deck one year ago, but it keeps running dry as the water evaporates. This my WIP to build a automated filling system for the fountain. It will be plumbed into the garden drip system, so it will fill during the time the sprinklers/drip feed runs. Basically inside the tube is a table tennis ball. As water rise the ball floats and shuts off the flow. This way the fountain should get topped up as needed. This thing was made with Tinkercad. Edit it online https://tinkercad.com/things/afJaXz9ZcRJ Instructions This thing was made with Tinkercad. It comes in two parts, the tube and the dome top. I lined inside the dome with plumbers putty, then pushed in a table tennis ball to get a nice smooth fit. I then glued the tube and the dome together. There is a hole in the top of the dome where I glued in a drip irrigation connector. As I stated this is a WIP as I have not had chance to connect it to the drip feed yet and test it out. I will post the results later.
