Automaton: Early Bird Catches the Worm

This is an automaton made with a mix of wooden and 3D printed parts. This automaton represents the statement "Early bird catches the worm". When the gears are spun the red cams, which are the worms, move up and down at different times and the bird spins in a circles. I designed all the parts myself, except for the O-ring, the 82 degrees countersunk Phillips screw, the wooden parts (the box, the shafts and the bases for me gear sub-assemblies) and the ball bearing.
