If you are going to go to all that work to figure out the number of carbon atoms in 12g of C12, you should get more than a constant and a law. A pen holder at the very least. You know, something useful.

This is a general use basket with "Avogadro's Pen Holder 602214090000000000000000" in helical text.

Print instructions

Unassociated tags: 6.02X10e23

Category: Office Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: i3 MK3

Rafts: No

Supports: Yes

Resolution: .200

Infill: 20%

Notes:

Printed in Filaments.ca bulk black at 220C. Sliced with simplify3d with sped up base and wall settings. Lots of supports because of the spiral open text.

It came out much larger than I was expecting and if I were to do it again, I would scale it down 15 to 20%.

Post-Printing

Lots of support material to remove. If you have the time and the software use custom supports and place them judiciously. The defaults are way to aggresive. This is going to get epoxy smoothed.

How I Designed This

Onshape

Used the custom surface text feature (PP-SurfaceText-Beta
V2.0.8) developed for the onshape community by Parametricparts.com. Projected the text onto a virtual surface and then spun a helix around and through the text. Once again, I should mention that I know nothing about CAD but I threw this together in Onshape.
