Crayford helical focuser for my AWB Onesky. The rack and pinion focuser of my original thing fixed the problem of rotating the camera during focus, but pushed the eyepiece way past the original location, which sometimes required collapsing the scope to get back into focusing range. This new focuser should put the eyepiece closer to the original location, fix the camera rotation problem and add a few extra mm of travel vs the original helical focuser. This also gets rid of any chance of the eyepiece popping out due to over-rotation of the focuser. My small dslr may still be too heavy for this setup, so may not be my final solution. Requires the AWB End Assembly from my original thing. Additional hardware: 2-3x m3x12mm thumbscrews 3mm nut 2" silicone band (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I275K7K) 6x m4 threaded insert (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LWKGGGM) 6x m4x25mm screws (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MU4O1FJ) 6x m4x10mm screws (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MU4O1FJ) 6x 624ZZ bearing (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AUB7M3C) Assembly: Best to assemble before mounting to the AWB End Assembly. Mount bearings onto each leaf with m4x10mm screws. Place m4 threaded inserts into bottom Crayford rings. Place bottom crayford ring half under the bottom of the circular ring of Crayford Mount. Fit Crayford spacer ring onto exposed m4 threaded inserts. Fit the other half of the bottom Crayford ring into place. Fit the top Crayford ring onto the m4 threaded inserts. Mount each leaf on the top of the top Crayfor ring and secure with m4x25mm screw, just tight enough to get rid of the slop. You want some rotation here. Align the notch in the drawtube with the matching post in the mount and push through. Mount eyepiece holder to end of drawtube using the m3 nuts and m3 thumbscrews. Rotate each leaf so the bearing contacts the drawtube. Stretch silicone ring over each leaf. This will be tight. Check that rotation of the Crayford ring allows drawtube to move in or out.
