<p>This is a mashup and remix of the <a href="https://www.printables.com/model/153547-awesome-bee-feeder">Awesome Bee Feeder!</a> and <a href="https://www.printables.com/model/218488-windycone-remix-for-nicgs-bee-feeder">Windy Cone Remix</a>.</p><p>My wife and I have been looking at various solutions to the bees landing in our California pool as they look for water. This model appealed to me.</p><p>I wanted a model that did not require glue and with minimal assembly. I did some test prints in PETG and realize the bridging required for the cap was well within the limits for bridging. Joining the bottle cap to the base seemed a good solution, but I was concerned about the small contact area and separation at the layers.</p><p>Then I saw the remix with the cone bottle mount - problem solved. I merged the base and cone bottle mount into as a single model in Sketchup. Then I updated the grid to have a mating supporting ring at the center and support around the outside edge to match.</p><p>The base is printable without supports. I recommend PETG for the base as I find the great layer adhesion results in water tight models and it is good for outdoor use. For the grid, you can print it with the top surface up as the bridging is minimal. I printed my grid face down on textured PEI for the nice surface finish.</p><p>You can also print the bee feeder as a single job with the grid in place - either single or multi-color. I print the grid separate so it can be removed for easier cleaning.</p><p>I've included the STL files and a 3MF for import and printing. I've also included the Sketchup design file. I Sketchup I work at 1 m to 1 mm scale, so if you export an STL be sure to select meters as your units or else you will have a very large model in your slicer that will need rescaled. The 3MF file is from Bambu Studio and may not be fully compatible with all slicers.</p><p>I printed this using California Filament Violet PETG and Black PETG and a 0.4 mm nozzle. The layer height can be printed at 0.20 mm or 0.16 mm.</p>
