If this design is useful for you, please like it and consider following me for more updates. This is an adapter for a Bausch and Lomb SZ3 microscope to allow it to be used in conjunction with the AmScope SAW Single-arm Heavy Duty Boom Stand for Stereo Microscopes (Like this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005C85R76). If you have the AmScope stand, the problem with it is that it has a round ~2.25" opening for the microscope attachment. This is not compatible with the B&L body, which requires a semi-square opening. The four screws that attach the existing holder to the slide need to be removed. There are 2 long screws and 2 short screws. In the new holder, the small holes will need to be tapped with a 2.5mm tap (I used the screw as a tap and it worked great). The two long screws are used in the countersunk holes. While the two short ones are used in the bottom, non-countersunk holes. The microscope body fits loosely in the holder. The four holes along the outside of the holder are intended for three each 1/4"-20 screws and should be tapped to secure the body more firmly. The hole at the rear can be used with a rubber stopper if desired. Additionally, the six holes on the armature are for attaching additional accessories such as lights, or cables.
