Babygo Magnetic Child Lock Key for 15mm Magnet

We have Babygo magnetic child locks on our cupboards, but there aren't enough magnetic keys. I had some 15mmx2mm magnets in the garage, so I made these cases to hold them. There's actually a lot of open space inside them and as they unscrew, you could always use it as a cash stash as well. I've made two designs, one that matches the original closely and one that uses less filament, is a bit easier to grip, but looks more like a cupboard door knob! Print whichever you prefer! No supports needed. I've got the slimmer ones as I've got them sticking to washers I've screwed to the underside of cabinets and it was a better fit into a small gap. I've been using them for weeks and they've held up great. You need a little glue to hold the magnets in the base otherwise they may shake loose and flip upside down. Just put them on something metal while the glue is drying and the magnets pull themselves onto the glue! :) It's VERY important to mount the magnets the correct way round - the easiest way is to make sure the base of this one repels (pushes against) the base of an existing key. These work great. I've used two 15mm magnets, but there is space for 3 or more if you want it even stronger. The way I've designed it you're not relying on glue to hold the magnets in place and pulling against the glue when you unstick these as most of the other designs do - the screw replaces the need for that. My printer is not particularly well dialled in, so the screw has enough gap to turn easily. You always increase your flow in the slicer to get a tighter fit or even shrink the lid by a tiny percentage (or just use glue on the threads). If you have your line width set to 0.6mm the shell will be 4 lines exactly. Print at 0.2mm or 0.12mm line height depending on how smooth a finish you want. See my make for more and better photos.
