Babylon 5 Thunderbolt Starfury

The iconic Thunderbolt from Babylon 5. Ready to print and assemble. The model is split into various parts, along natural lines in the model to minimise odd joins. The rear wings will rotate and the cockpit can be printed with transparent windows with the cockpit interior modelled. For further details there is an included README.txt: I have arranged the parts to cause minimal disruption to a final print and require a minimum of support. The lines where it breaks are lines that appear on the model or can be easily hidden with filler. I printed it with tree supports, sliced via Cura 4.5 and printed in PLA at 200/50 temp. Glueing of the final parts is necessary, with filling of joins and sanding highly recommended for FDM prints. Resin printing would produce a finer surface. I have produced a complete STL with every part arranged on the bed. This is not recommended and I did not print it this way, but if you're brave and want to try an all in one, this is for you. It does fit the print bed on my Ender 3 (just) The cockpit canopy is the most delicate part to print because of the thin lines. Scaling down the object will probably cause a problem here first. You can try printing TB_CANOPY_CHUNKY first, to see if the chunkier canopy will print better (although you might need to cut it to fit the cockpit in), but if not you can use TB_CANOPY_SOLID as a replacement, but of course you shouldn't print the cockpit internals in this case. Scaling down the model further will cause problems in other parts. I did not print transparent inserts for the cockpit, but I have modelled them and included them in the archive. This is an experimental extra but should fit the holes for the windows. They are quite thin parts, therefore delicate. To attach the rear winglets you should hook one side on the rear engine mount and then squeeze the ring gently, pushing it on the other mount. Once attached it will rotate (as seen in the pictures attached) and friction will keep it from moving. The more paint you put on the model, the harder it will be to attach and rotate. I might recommend printing the winglets at 102+ percent, to give it a little more freedom, but obviously printing a single one as a test would work best here. The top and bottom main engines are not interchangable, and have different sized inserts to differentiate between them (the longer inserts are for the top engines), but the rear engine part and thrusters are interchangable. There are parts that you will need to print multiples of: TB_Thruster x 4 TB_Wingflap x 4 TB_Rear_Engine x 4 If there is something demonstrably wrong with the model then please contact me for a fix, but please note I did print this successfully, as seen in this archive. Of course you may not transfer the files to anyone else (or upload to another service) as this is a paid gig, and I'll thank you in advance for not doing this. Also, consider this a license for your personal use only. You can print as many as you like (if you want a squadron :)), but not print them for resale to others. However, if someone is desperate for one and they do not have printing or modelling experience, please send them my way to purchase the model, and then feel free to print one and pass it on to them (with your commission on top). The tiny amount I make from modelling is welcome, appreciated and useful. Thanks! Although, sending more lurkers my way to purchase another one is of course appreciated. If you do refer anyone and they purchase a model, I'll make you a stand for it :) Let me know....
