Shoutout to jrebeiro for the design! I originally wanted to add a spare 30mm fan to the top of this case. And while it is possible with a raspberry pi 3, it isn't really necessary. After doing some reading online, it doesn't seem like I could ever get the Pi hot enough to cause performance issues. So I opted to add another vent instead. The Raspberry Pi cutout sits just above and slightly off-center from the Pi's processor. I didn't want to damage the integrity of the original design, and to be honest I prefer how this looks.
