## What is the backpack? The backpack is a low budget 3D delta printer. He uses the favorable 28BYJ-48 step motors and fits in a backpack as well. The idea for the backpack arose when there was a gap between the [Low Budget 3D printer](https://www.derpade.de/mein-selbst-gebauter-3d-drucker-aus-altem-pc-material/) and The [Sparkcube v1.1](https://www.derpade.de/bauanleitung-sparkcube-v1-1-bautagebuch/). The 28BYJ-48 stepper motors fill the gap between stepping motors from CD drives and Nema17 motors. From this gap, the following requirements were formed. _In this project several hundred hours have passed. From the idea, to the design to the prototype, it took a lot of sweat and effort, not to forget the investment in several components and several prototypes. For this reason, I would like to draw attention to the possibility in the form of a PayPal donation._ [![](https://www.paypalobjects.com/webstatic/en_US/btn/btn_donate_pp_142x27.png)](https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=28WZAXQDXYZ5A) **Requirements:** * Low budget * As quietly as possible * 28BYJ-48 stepping motors * Mini 3D printer for the desk * Simple construction * No special tools required Each (with a 3D printer) is able to build a backpack by itself. However, the backpack should be built with basic knowledge about 3D printers. ## Links * [Project site](https://www.derpade.de/der-backpack-mini-3d-delta-drucker) * [Firmware (Marlin) ](https://github.com/blackus3r/backpack-mini-delta) * [PayPal-Donation Link](https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=28WZAXQDXYZ5A) * Building instructions for the backpack (Available Soon) ## Technical specifications <table> <tbody> <tr style="height: 24px;"> <th style="height: 24px;">H x W x D</th> <td style="height: 24px;">220mm x 183mm x 163mm</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 24px;"> <th style="height: 24px;">Material</th> <td style="height: 24px;">PLA</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 24px;"> <th style="height: 24px;">Printing speed</th> <td style="height: 24px;">5mm/s - 20mm/s</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 24.09375px;"> <th style="height: 24.09375px;">Accuracy</th> <td style="height: 24.09375px;">0.05mm - 0.3mm</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 24px;"> <th style="height: 24px;">Price</th> <td style="height: 24px;">~80€</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> ## BOM The links in the parts lists lead to Amazon offers. ## Parts list The links in the parts lists lead to Amazon offers. ### Pressure parts * 3x motor plate * 3x pulley plate * 1x Effector * 3x Carriage * 3x belt tensioner * 3x glass plate holder * 12x Rod joint 1 * 12x Rod joint 2 * 1x extruder motor plate * 1x Extruder arm * 3x end stop holder * 3x GT2 28BYJ-48 Pulley ### Mechanics * 4x [28BYJ-48 step motors] (http://amzn.to/2rc6uAS) * 6x [220mm x 6mm aluminum rod] (http://amzn.to/2rcdBsW) * 6x [100mm x 6mm aluminum rod] (http://amzn.to/2rcdBsW) * 6x [80mm M3 thread rod] (http://amzn.to/2socl3A) * 1x [spring 7.5mm x 5mm x 20mm] (http://amzn.to/2qH97XB) * <Del> 3x </ del> [<del> GT2 16 Teeth </ del>] (http://amzn.to/2qHlEui) (5mm diameter) are missing since version V0.2-alpha * 3x [GT2 16 Teeth Idler] (http://amzn.to/2rcodIp) (3mm bore) * 3x 400mm [GT-2 belt 5mm] (http://amzn.to/2sogaWA) (for v0.1-alpha) * 3x 400mm GT-2 belt 3mm (for v0.2-alpha) * 1x [M3 x 10mm DIN 912] (http://amzn.to/2ruHGnJ) * 1x [M3 x 6mm self-tapping screws] (http://amzn.to/2tpszx9) * 1x [screw set] (http://amzn.to/2rXYPYz) * 6x M4 x 5mm screws * 4x [20mm x 20mm x 10mm heat sink] (http://amzn.to/2rZlXot) (optional) * 12x [M3 washers] (http://amzn.to/2rPrn3g) * 1x 13mm x 5mm ball bearing (4mm inner diameter) ### electronics * 1x [E3D V6 tip (heating cartridge, 100K NTC sensor)] (http://amzn.to/2rlG4uZ) * 1x [30mm fan] (http://amzn.to/2qH8zB9) * 1x [Ramps 1.4] (http://amzn.to/2rc9EUY) * 1x [Atmega2560] (http://amzn.to/2rc9EUY) * 4x [A4988 step motor driver] (http://amzn.to/2rc9EUY) * 1x [12V 60W netsil] (http://amzn.to/2ruudfL) * 1x [12V DC jack] (http://amzn.to/2rlbpO1) * 1x [cable set] (http://amzn.to/2sKI3bJ) * 3x [Micro-Switch] (http://amzn.to/2so2V8r) ### Other * 1x PTFE Teflon tube 4mm x 2mm x 40cm * 1x glass plate round 100mm x 4mm * 1x hotend insulation * 1x [Shrink sleeve] (http://amzn.to/2rclRJw) * 3x [acrylic glass] (http://amzn.to/2so7TBY) (optional) * 3x [acrylic glass] (http://amzn.to/2so7TBY) (optional) ## Printing settings All parts were printed with the following settings: * Nozzle: 0,45mm * Temperature: 195° Nozzle, 50° Heatbed * Layer: 0,25mm and 0,15mm * Speed: 15mm/s und 25mm/s * Infill: 20% * Shells: 2 * Outerline: 0,9mm * Bottom/Top Layer: 0,45mm * Support: Yes (Only Effector) ## Videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7sSBsKhXEE ## License [![Creative Commons Lizenzvertrag](https://i.creativecommons.org/l/by-nc-sa/4.0/88x31.png)](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/) Backpack Mini Delta 3D Printer von [Patrick Hausmann](https://derpade.de) ist lizenziert unter einer [Creative Commons Namensnennung - Nicht-kommerziell - Weitergabe unter gleichen Bedingungen 4.0 International Lizenz](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/).
