Shield Pack Scandinavia

Shield Pack Scandinavia

cults3d

Intended for 3d print. This pack contains 8 shields with the coat of arms of the nations (current and historical) of Scandinavia. You can see renders of every shield in the image gallery. A list of included nations follows further down on this page. The shields are intended for use with tabletop miniatures in scales between 25-75mm. Optimal scale is somewhere around 40mm. Some of the finer details will suffer at smaller scales, and sub-25mm scale is not recommended. There are two variants of each shield. The first variant has arm straps, and is intended to be used for when the shield is not attached to the arm of a miniature (but rather worn on the back, leaning against a wall et cetera). The second variant has the arm straps removed, so as not to interfere when you want to glue the shield to the arm of a miniature. All shield models come in both .stl and .obj format. List of included nations: Sweden, version 1. This shield displays the Swedish coat of arms in use from 1448 AD and up to modern day. This version does not include an inescutcheon displaying the insignia of whatever dynasty is currently ruling the kingdom. Sweden, version 2. Same as above, but includes an inescutcheon with the insignia of the house of Vasa, Sweden's first ruling dynasty after breaking free from the Kalmar Union (generally considered the birth of modern Sweden). Norway. This shield displays the coat of arms of Norway in use since at least 1285 AD and up to the modern day. Denmark. This shield displays the coat of arms of Denmark in use since at least 1194 AD and up to the modern day. Finland. This shield displays the coat of arms of Finland in use since at least 1580 AD and up to the modern day (originating as a ducal coat of arms from when Finland was a grand duchy belonging to Sweden) . Incidentally, the symbolism of the sword-swinging lion trampling an eastern-style curved sabre is apparently a comment on the finnish attitude towards their russian enemies, which officially makes this the most badass coat of arms of all the Scandinavian countries. Iceland, version 1. This shield displays the coat of arms of Iceland between 1262-1500 AD. Iceland, version 2. This shield displays the coat of arms of Iceland between 1500-1903 AD. Gotland. This shield displays the coat of arms of Gotland (never a Scandinavian kingdom, but the gutnish city of Visby was a prominent, independent city and member of the Hanseatic League for centuries) in use since circa 1340 AD and up to the modern day.
