I dug into the comments and uncovered some answers that were hiding in plain sight. Unfortunately, there's no clear way to probe for bounding boxes of an object without making some assumptions. That's why this update includes text dimension assumptions, which won't work perfectly every time. Another challenge I'm still working on is variable scope - how do you loop through an array and extract stats like the max length of string values? It's currently hardcoded, but I haven't figured out a way to make it more dynamic yet.
